Airports

The library is located 15 miles from Hobby Airport and 30 miles from Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Light Rail

METRO rail, Houston's light rail line, extends from downtown through the Texas Medical Center. One-way full fare is $1. Parking is available at the Fannin South Park & Ride. The daily parking rate is $2.

When riding the rail, exit or board at the Memorial Hermann/Houston Zoo station, Fannin at N. McGregor. From the rail station, walk south on Fannin to John Freeman and turn left on John Freeman. The library building is located on the left side of John Freeman, one block from Fannin.

Directions and Parking

The library is situated on the southwest edge of downtown Houston, on the Texas Medical Center campus (map).

Find driving directions: TMC interactive map or MapQuest.

Parking is available in Garage #3 beneath the library. If Garage #3 is full, use Garage #4. Daily parking rate is $12.

From Hobby Airport:

  • Take Broadway to I-45 North.
  • From I-45 North, exit onto 610 Loop West.
  • From 610 Loop West, exit Fannin Street and turn right (north) onto Fannin.
  • Follow Fannin for approx. 2.5 miles.
  • Turn right onto John Freeman Blvd.
  • Go one block and turn left onto E. Cullen. The library will be on your left.
  • Parking is available in Garage #3 beneath the library. If Garage #3 is full, use Garage #4. The daily parking rate is $12.

From Bush Intercontinental Airport:

  • Take Will Clayton Boulevard to US 59 South.
  • Travel US 59 South to Highway 288 (19 miles).
  • From Highway 288 exit MacGregor Drive and turn right on North MacGregor.
  • Continue on North MacGregor (which turns into Braeswood) to Moursund and turn right onto Moursund (Texas Medical Center Campus).
  • At the 3rd stop sign, turn right onto E. Cullen.
  • Go 1 1/2 blocks and the library will be on your left.
  • Parking is available in Garage #3 beneath the library. If Garage #3 is full, use Garage #4. The daily parking rate is $12.
