Reserve a Room
Reservations must be made 30 days in advance. To reserve a room click on one of the following:
- First Floor Conference Room
- Street Level Classroom
- Street Level Conference Room
- Street Level Computer Lab. To reserve this room, email webevent@exch.library.tmc.edu

- Study rooms No reservations. First-come, first-served.
Room Descriptions
First Floor Conference Room --This room seats six comfortably and has access to an Internet connection.
Street Level Classroom --This room has an instructor's station with a projection unit, computers for 24 students and a printer. Absolutely no food or drinks are allowed in the classroom.
Street Level Conference Room--This room seats 18 comfortably around a large conference room plus 25 around the wall. It includes:
- One instructor's workstation with Internet connectivity
- Proxima Projector
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Street Level Computer Lab -- Has twenty-two workstations all with internet access and Office 2007 suite. To reserve this room, email webevent@exch.library.tmc.edu
The large area outside the Street Level Conference Room can also be booked for special events. Please contact Deborah Halsted, Associate Director, Public Services and Operations at 713.799.7163 for more information.
Seven small study rooms are available for TMC students. These rooms are used on a first-come, first-served basis and include:
- Three rooms in the Reference Storage area of the street level
- A small conference room next to the reference desk on the first floor
- Three small study rooms on the south side of the second floor

Payment
Payment must be received at the HAM-TMC Library Accounting Office prior to occupancy of the room. This office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Payment is expected 2 weeks within the submission request in order to confirm reservation. Failure to pay within that time frame will result in the cancellation of the reservation. All fees are non-refundable. Reservations are not confirmed until fees have been paid. This may be done on the spot if the paperwork is completed, the money is paid and the room is available. The Library accepts most major credit cards, checks and cash.
Room Rules
Users agree to the Room Rules provided here. Failure to abide by these regulations may disqualify the organization from future use of the rooms. The organization also accepts financial responsibility for any and all damage caused to the building or equipment beyond normal wear.
Food or Drink
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.
Food and drink are allowed in the Conference rooms, however, catering must be supplied by Waterside Catering (713.749.0472) or French Corner (713.796.8463). Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Schedule
Meetings must end on time so that the room can be cleared or prepared for other meetings. The meeting room must be vacated at least 30 minutes before library closing time.
Signs
Signs, working papers or posters may not be attached to the walls of the meeting rooms. Any additional signs or posters placed anywhere in the building must be approved by Library administration.
Easels and display panels can be requested or placed in the library. The library is not responsible for either returning or protecting this material but, in general, all displays are in general view of staff and thus protected.
Software Policy
Additional software can be added if advance notice is given at least one month prior to a scheduled meeting or class or a fee will be incurred. A representative of the institution reserving a room must provide any additional software to Library staff, along with current licenses. Depending on the complexity of the process of adding the software, the representative will be required to assist in loading the software.The Library cannot provide operators for the software or other equipment. If instruction is required for equipment operation, it is suggested that a representative of the group set up an appointment with the appropriate library staff in advance.
Statement of Liability
The Library will not be held liable for any injury or harm of any person(s) using the facility.
Reservation Policies
The meeting rooms are available for use by all TMC institutions, as well as by corporate and community groups, however, the HAM-TMC Library’s Participating and Supporting institutions reserve first rights to usage of these meeting rooms.
Rooms may be used for educational, cultural, informational or governmental/civic activities and may include public lectures, panel discussions, presentations, group discussions, workshops and other similar functions. Programs involving sales, advertisement or promotion of commercial products or services; or programs sponsored by a business firm, regardless of purpose, are not prohibited; but may be subject to the pre-approval of HAM-TMC Library administrators. Users agree to abide by all Library regulations relating to the use of the facilities and accept full responsibility for all damages that the user might cause to the building and/or equipment beyond normal wear.
The Library encourages the use of these meeting rooms as long as usage does not interfere with the normal functions of the Library.Statement of Declaration
Use of the meeting rooms does not imply endorsement of the viewpoints presented by the Library staff or the Library’s Board of Directors.
