Finding Information

E-Journals

We use Serials Solutions to provide the list of our electronic journals.

You can search the E-Journals collection by:

  1. browsing the A-Z list
  2. by entering a partial title in a search box
  3. by subject (choose Health Sciences from the drop-down list)
  4. by collection (choose DirectLinks to Publishers to visit their websites)

Online Catalog

The library's catalog is a joint venture of the Texas Health Science Libraries Consortium and gives you access to bibliographic information about all of the print and digital materials held in each of the Consortium's member libraries. Many bibliographic records for digital resources will provide links out to those resources as well. Future development plans for the catalog include digital image collections and local digital dissertation collections.

Dissertations

Digital: find bibliographic information and full-text in the DigitalCommons@TMC, the institutional repository, and also in ProQuest Digital Dissertations database.

Print: the print dissertations collections are housed offsite at the Historical Research Center. These materials can be checked out. Search for specific titles or by subject in the Online Catalog, then either visit the HRC or request delivery of the items you want to the HAM-TMC Library by contacting the Circulation Desk at 713.799.7147.

Rice University Fondren Library and HAM-TMC Library in collaboration

A collaborative effort to provide access to combined holdings at both libraries is underway. Currently, faculty holding appointments at both a TMC educational institution (UT-Houston Medical School, GSBS, etc. or Baylor College of Medicine, for example) and Rice University are eligible to access our combined electronic resources. More information about projects, programs, and policies is available at the Fondren Library-HAM-TMC Library website.
