HAM-TMC Library
Membership & Cards
Anyone who visits the HAM-TMC Library is welcome to use all of the resources of the Libary. An HAM-TMC Library card is required to borrow materials. To obtain a card: complete the Library Card Application
Eligibility
- Faculty, students, and staff from Governing and Supporting Institutions
- Members of the Harris County Medical Society
- Bring your institutional identification badge to the Circulation Desk to obtain your card
- Cards must be renewed yearly to ensure uninterrupted service
Health care providers who are not cardholders can receive some privileges through the Library's role as the Regional Medical Library for the South Central Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. Please call the Circulation Desk 713.799.7147 for more information.
Free Consumer Cards
- Free to anyone with Texas issued identification
- These cards can be used to check out consumer books and videos only
- They do not provide other library services such as interlibrary loan or remote access to electronic resources
- Fines are $1.25 per day per item
- Three-day checkout.
- No renewals
TexShare Cards
TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve service to Texans. Members include public libraries that belong to the regional library system, academic libraries, and libraries of clinical medicine. TexShare enables libraries to offer a broader range of materials and services than any single library can offer its constituents. The TexShare Library Card Program is a significant step towards a statewide library card system. For more information, inquire at the Circulation Desk, 713.799.7147.
Houston Area Research Library Consortium (HARLiC) Card
- Available to faculty, graduate students, residents, fellows and medical students
- Entitles you to borrow items from:
- Houston Public Library
- Prairie View A & M John B. Coleman Library
- Rice Fondren Library
- Texas A & M University Library
- Texas Southern University Robert James Terry Library
- The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Moody Medical Library
